Understanding range and scenarios

Currently Focusing on understanding range/scenarios & acknowledging what weapons you have in your current skill-set that fits.

Eg.Close Quarter but not quite grappling range utilizing elbows & Chinese boxing techniques but once range is broken by opponent stepping back in defense or through taking damage having the instincts to utilise the outside leg kick.

Drills being played on partners,Pads & bags as each training tool caters for different skills.

  1. Practiced Wing Chun for 15 years, then a kung fu martial arts style for 9 years under Sify Terry before that, work took me overseas for 9 years not practicing.
Came back to Australia and heard that Sifu Terry has opened a successful MMA school, I was interested to see what he had created. So at a young age of 60 joined a class called Freestyle Martial Arts a combination of Kung Fu Styles, MMA, Wrestling and grappling,
After four weeks training I am very impressed in the way Sifu Terry has combined the styles into a very effective art with his incredible knowledge and experience in the real world of street fighting. He tailors each lesson to cover the abilities of everyone participating and has the interest of every students wellbeing. Every lesson is an amazing learning curve in the art, I noticed that every student whether a novice or experienced is never made to feel inadequate or “out of place”. We are taught not just the ‘art’ but also real world self defense techniques.
